Suzy Kolber was born Suzanne Lisa Kolber on May 14 1964. The birth took place in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to a Jewish family. She is currently 58. Their mother's name was Sandra Kolber and her father is Gene Kolber. She was a student at Sandy Run Middle School, Dresher Pennsylvania. In 1982 she graduated from Upper Dublin High School. In 1986, she received a Bachelor of Arts that included a concentration on telecommunications from University of Miami. Her first job was a director of sports at Dynamic Cable located in Coral Gables Florida while she was still an undergraduate college student. Furthermore, she was employed by Dynamic Cable for two years starting in 1984 until 1986. The time was when she was also part of the water skiing team from the University of Miami. In her youth Plaza participated in community theatre in her native Wilmington acting performing improv and directing one-act shows. She moved from Wilmington to New York City after high school where she studied film and TV production at New York University Tisch School of the Arts and also took classes in Improv in The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. She was just 20 when she suffered the effects of a stroke, which resulted in expressive aphasia (a deficit in expression and comprehension of language).
