Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford is a British American musician, songwriter and guitarist who was the lead guitarist of the all-girl rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their rock-star sound and raucous lyrics allowed them to be noticed throughout the world of rock. The band was not able to achieve major success on the scene in The United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. Ford's solo heavy metal career had a great success following the band breakup. Following vocal training, she launched her debut solo album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin' On The Edge'. Both the albums did not receive much success and Ford disappeared from the rock world for a few years. Ford returned to the scene in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever were both huge hit songs. However, the success of her career wasn't last long and after a few years she went under the radar. Her return came after the release of 'Black in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' almost 15 years later. The album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
